Course Overview

Our experiential training model ensures behavioural, not just attitudinal change. Every person on the course will craft an agenda. And they’ll participate in a meeting, be recorded, be assessed and will then implement the new behaviours.

Our training model doesn’t leave people with fancy words for things they still can’t do. It changes behaviours and gets real results.

You’ll leave the session with a clear idea of where you need to further improve, and an action plan of how to do it.

The key thing is that it’s not “off the peg.” It’s devised and structured to work for you, your business, your budget and your objectives.

We’ll talk about running meetings and how to become a skilled facilitator who fosters' collaboration and engaging discussions, controls' disruptions and obstructions and confidently chairs the meeting.

You also learn how to craft an agenda that will set and prioritise objectives, communicate what’s expected of participants and help you to keep participants engaged and discussions on track.

We’ll help you prepare and practise for participating in meetings confidently, give you structures and principles in communicating clearly - whether that’s introducing the meeting or speaking up and making a point on a topic.

All of these will maximise the efficiency of the meeting and make sure it’s an impactful use of everyone’s time and resources.

Meetings are crucial. Crucial for sharing important information, making decisions and planning actions. They shouldn’t be side-tracked by tangential discussions or taken over by dominant personalities.

They should be effective, efficient and engaging.

We’ll show course participants how to do this.

It starts with the meeting agenda. Your team will learn how to craft an agenda that maximises efficiency and flow. One that ensures all attendees know the point and purpose of the meeting and what is expected of them. One that gets things done.

They’ll be asked to draft an agenda in advance of the session, based on a specific meeting brief agreed and outlined beforehand.

We’ll analyse and assess these agendas, showing your staff how to craft rock solid agendas that facilitate productive, timely and structured meetings as well as prepared attendees.

Our Meeting Skills course is based on learning by doing, so participants take part in running and contributing to a realistic meeting.

Here they’ll learn how to control the dynamic. They’ll learn how to introduce and confidently chair the meeting. How to ensure inclusivity and fairness.

They are then challenged to assess themselves in detail, working out for themselves where they can improve.
